Volunteer Services
Here's one of the most unique aspects of TMM. Its volunteer program gives many from around the state and nation who haven't themselves known poverty a chance to live and learn and develop empathy for others. As church groups come for week-long summer work crews, or others arrive to help pass out Thanksgiving or Christmas baskets or visit shut-ins, minds are opened and ministry occurs. The presence of volunteers says to the community that people "from the other side of the tracks" care. And volunteers learn, "I can make a difference too." And that's what crossing the tracks is all about!
