Invest in the Future of a Child (Sponsorship Program)

Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it." Proverbs 22:6

The Mission
The purpose of the Mendenall Ministries (TMM) is to disciple people and develop ministries to meet the spiritual and physical needs of the rural poor. TMM is known for providing progressive and aggressive local leadership within the community to address the problems of poor housing, segregated education and lack of employment opportunities within the Black community. One way it fulfills its mission is through Genesis One Christian School.

The School
Genesis One Christian School (GOCS) was started in 1978 as half-day kindergarten in an attempt to provide an enriching and challenging environment for the children. It is the mission of GOCS to break the cycle of poverty, racism, and despair that steals the future of children. Genesis One offers hope to these children, many who come from homes where the financial, spiritual and emotional resources have been shattered. Today, GOCS caters to children in nursery three through 12th grade. It is a safe and nurturing place of hope for children and their parents.

The Cost
Any child, regardless of finances, is able to attend Genesis One. The cost to educate a child at GOCS is $3,000 and parents are required to pay at least $1,000. If a parent is unable to pay their portion, they are able to work in the Parent Work Program and establish credit toward the tuition payment. The remainder of each student's tuition is raised through contributions from foundations, churches and through the Sponsorship Program.

How You Can Help
The investment in a child's future is immeasurable and of eternal value. You can sponsor a child for $25, $30, $37.50, $75, $150, $200, or $300 a month. The faithful support and partnerships with caring people around the country make it possible for so many children to have a hopeful future. Won't you invest in the future of a child?

There are four ways in which you can financially support a child at GOCS:

Full Sponsorship -- $3,000 or $300 a month
Standard Sponsorship -- $2,000 or $200 a month
Half Sponsorship -- $1,500 or $150 a month
Quarter Sponsorship -- $750 or $75 a month
One-Eighth Sponsorship -- $375 or $37.50 a month
One-Tenth Sponsorship -- $300 or $30 a month
One-Twelfth Sponsorship -- $250 or $25 a month

You may want to share in the rewards and blessings of helping children receive a Christian education, but the cost of full sponsorship may be beyond your means. If so, in addition to regular sponsorship, you may have Sponsorship Partner(s), where family members and friends partner together to fully sponsor a child.

You will receive a photo of your sponsored child, a progress report, and cards or notes from the child quarterly. We encourage sponsors to write to their sponsored child, send cards, and birthday gifts if they choose.
